Joseph "Joe" Medrano Jr.

January 14, 1928 ~ June 4, 2018 (age 90)

Joseph (Joe) Medrano Jr. was born January 14, 1928 from the late Joseph Medrano Sr. and Juanita Jamie Medrano. Joe was a devoted husband, a loving father, the sweetest grand and great grandfather, a wise friend, but above all he was a humble faithful servant of God and believed wholeheartedly in being kind to one another. His message was simple: take care of each other and love one another. As a young man, Joe proudly served in the Army as a MP. He earned an honorable reputation where he was awarded a metal. In addition to being a proud veteran, Joe worked for Union Carbide where he retired in 1997. He joyfully married his beloved wife Delphine Medrano in 1962 where they created a beautiful home in Victoria, TX. This loving home rooted a strong family which began with their children Diana Marie Uherek (Vincent), Bernadette Morales (son-in-law Ramiro Morales Jr.), Christopher Medrano, Delia Medrano and the late youngest daughter, Patricia Michelle Medrano (Patsy). He is also survived by 6 grandchildren Jessica Burklow (Nathan), Jana Longoria, Ashley Morales (Brian), Alan Michael Morales, Vanessa Medrano and Erica Medrano and 4 great grandchildren Nicolas Longoria Davis, Luke Austin, Liam Austin and Shain May. Joe is also the brother of Jean Vega (Larry) and the late Mary Jane Ortiz (Joe). On the morning of June 4, 2018, Joe returned home to join the Lord and his youngest daughter Patsy. He will be missed and rejoiced for the life that he led by his family.  Visitation will begin Friday, June 8, 2018 from 6pm to 9pm with a rosary to be recited at 7pm at Angel Lucy’s Funeral Home in Victoria.
